"Latoya showed us that a doula is not just a “nice to have,” but a necessity—even during what turned out to be a smooth, uneventful pregnancy. As first-time parents who were discerning of how we were to go about this journey, we feel incredibly lucky to have found someone whose values aligned with ours and who wasn’t afraid to support and help us advocate for the choices that mattered to us.

We began building a relationship with Latoya a couple of months before the birth. She taught us how to collect colostrum, walked us through what to expect, and helped us think through our birth plan. During labor, in addition to being our doula, she felt like a therapist. She always had a tool, technique, or position up her sleeve to keep me as comfortable as possible. When it came time to consider interventions, she served as a calm sounding board who helped us think clearly and stay grounded in our intentions. Today, we are still working with her postpartum. It’s so nice to have her continued guidance after all this time."

We found Latoya because of CHRF.

Thank you CHRF from our family to yours,

Annie, Chris, and Baby Azryn
