PICHC programs use strategies to improve the health and well-being of individuals of reproductive age and their families with a focus on individuals in the prenatal, postpartum, and interconception periods.

CHRF manages a Breastfeeding Friendly care continuum from pregnancy through infancy to increase breastfeeding initiation. This includes the provision of breastfeeding support through health care practices, peer support, access to breastfeeding information for new mothers, and accessible lactation spaces.
 

Baby Café: A breastfeeding support group/drop-in center which supports a model of care licensed by Baby Café USA, a non-profit organization that coordinates a network of services to support breastfeeding mothers.

Home Visiting Programs change the lives of children and their families. Research shows Healthy Families New York (HFNY) works for many families, from first time teen parents to families with other children. Families have healthier babies, demonstrate better knowledge of parenting and child development, create positive family bonds, develop connections to community services, and have children who do better in school.

CHRF offers pregnant people the opportunity to have a birth doula who will go on 24-hour standby from 38 weeks of pregnancy and will come to the delivery as soon as labor starts.

The doula is the coach for the whole family, she is there to make everyone feel supported through the process. Doulas will be a safe pair of hands that will make the pregnancy, birth, and the initial time with the newborn more comfortable and relaxed.
